Randolph the handsome cowboy

I searched high and low to find the lyrics to this song. This is a piggyback song based on the tune of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I remember my mom singing this to us when we were little and I would beam in delight, just wondering where this mysterious hero of a guy was.

Randolph the handsome cowboy
…had two very shiny guns
And if you ever saw them
…you would turn around and run
All of the other cowboys
… used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Randolph
… join in any Cowboy games

Then one foggy Friday night
…the sheriff came to say
Randolph with those guns so bright
…won’t you lead my posse tonight
Then how the cowboys loved him
… as they shouted out with glee
Randolph you handsome cowboy
…you’ll go down in my diarrryyyyy

There are other versions out there for this infamous Randolph, everything from red-gunned to bow-legged. I think I still prefer the dreamy diary best!
